This is an endocrine disorder, which is characterized by significant violations of the menstrual cycle and, as a result, infertility. Therefore, one of the main issues that concern women with PCOS is whether they can become pregnant and what needs to be done. We answer it in this article together with experts from the Fomin Clinic in Belgorod.

Infertility, which is often paired with PCOS, is called anovulatory. What does this mean: the egg matures during the cycle, but ovulation does not occur, that is, the follicle does not rupture and the mature egg does not enter the ovary. The good news is that it is treated, and in a large number of cases, if the treatment was successful, pregnancy occurs naturally. However, before starting treatment it will be necessary to exclude other possible causes of infertility: uterine, tubal, male factors and others - this is a task for a reproductologist and andrologist andrologist.

Infertility treatment for PCOS should begin with quality lifestyle changes and treatment for obesity, if any. The treatment itself consists in the so-called induction of ovulation, that is, in drug stimulation so that ovulation does occur.

In the context of PCOS, they speak of the first and second lines of treatment for anovulatory infertility. The first is the induction of ovulation using a special drug. This treatment lasts long enough, but no longer than six cycles. Taking this drug, you do not need to be afraid of strong side effects: the likelihood of developing hyperstimulation syndrome is extremely small, and multiple pregnancy as a result of such treatment can occur no more than in 10% of cases.

The second line of therapy is required when the use of the first drug was ineffective or there were no necessary conditions for its use at all. In this second line, treatment is carried out in a medication way - ovulation is also stimulated, but with gonadotropins. If this does not lead to the onset of ovulation, as well as if anovulation is not the only cause of infertility (for example, you still have endometriosis or obstruction of the fallopian tubes), there is a need for surgical intervention - and the doctor performs a laparoscopy.

Important! Laparoscopy is not prescribed to solve other concomitant PCOS symptoms, this operation is indicated only for the treatment of problems associated with infertility. In half of cases after laparoscopy, repeated induction of ovulation is required.

If both treatment lines did not work or worked, but you still have additional indications for this procedure, the doctor will recommend you to join the IVF program in order to more likely achieve the desired pregnancy and give birth. However, the diagnosis of PCOS imposes its limitations on the preparation for this procedure: due to the fact that PCOS increases the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation (in ART programs, not in treatment!), Doctors recommend transferring no more than one embryo or segmenting the treatment cycle. Segmentation of the cycle means that the resulting embryos will freeze and transfer to you not in the stimulated cycle, but in the next or after some time, when the risk of developing ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome becomes lower.

To summarize: yes, pregnancy with a diagnosis of PCOS is possible, but not without some effort on your part. It will be necessary not only to treat infertility caused by PCOS, but also to change the lifestyle towards a healthier one. After treatment, pregnancy may occur naturally, but in some cases (treatment was ineffective or there are other indications), IVF may be required.

Somehow I talked at a ladies' forum with a woman. She has been diagnosed with PCOS from her youth. I gave birth to three children. But says all conceptions through hormonal stimulation.

Write your Skype to [email protected] explain how to achieve the result.

I have polycystic ovary. She became pregnant 3 times without any intervention, moreover, she was even protected.

What about your cycle? With polycystic it is also irregular.

Weight, on the contrary, must be gained

I have two children. I was diagnosed with the diagnosis (which one I already forgot) at 19, the doctor said that I could not get pregnant without therapy. Well, then it was up to the bulb))) I have an irregular cycle all my life. had sex without protection, nothing happened. at 22, I thought about pregnancy and bam)) became pregnant a month later. the second time I don’t know how it happened at all))) so everything happens

my friend became pregnant. She was preparing for Eco, Eco didn’t work, but there were so many hormones that everything worked out naturally

my daughter - everything is ok / did nothing / just a healthy lifestyle.
and the gynecologist diagnosed - in general they say the pipe.
nifiga. don't believe /
everything will be fine.

I accidentally became pregnant for the first time at 30, before that I tried 8 years old, last month after a month I went, was treated 3 years before pregnancy, then I left. Now I’ll be protected, suddenly, I’m not planning any more.

Thank you very much, otherwise doctors generally say that you can’t do without lapar, and they don’t really want to take for me.
everything will be fine.

A friend was diagnosed with polycystic from school. The result - two children and an abortion between births, became pregnant herself, naturally. The first time in the first cycle (although it was irregular), after the abortion, she waited seven years. A doctor at her 35 years old was very surprised to learn about the presence of children. By the way, she still has her month as she wants.

Girls, don’t forget that everyone has different polycystosis. I have polycystosis. I’m married 16 years old. But I never got pregnant. A month ago I did a lapora. The doctor who operated on me said that I had surgery. All the ovaries in the cysts and these cysts bent the ovary, so it blocked the pipes. Monthly from the age of 14 jumped too. The doctors also said it didn’t matter to me. Even those with monthly periods get pregnant. And I still waited for a miracle. But until another gynecologist sent me to a neighboring city and t am I wouldn’t be occupied with it. I would have waited further for a miracle. So it’s better to be examined again with all sides. My periods went every six months, but pregnancy did not occur. So I think we should go for an operation.
Good luck to you

I have polycystic + follicular cysts every cycle despite the fact that I was given polycystosis for the first time, before it had no ovaries at all. (I have not been able to get pregnant for a year, now they have prescribed stimulation if it doesn’t work, then on eco. So much money and nerves have already been spent on treatment and everything is empty.

I was given polycystic (PCOS, PCOS, one and the same), appeared after taking birth control (I drank them for 11 months). The menstruation began to go as they want - after 45-55 days, the pregnancy did not occur, I was 29 years old, I ran to the doctors with staring eyes, everyone offered different methods of treatment - from an hCG injection to laparoscopy. I decided to try a treatment with vitamins and a special diet, on the Internet it is if you are interested, you drink your vitamin on every day of the cycle, and so for at least 3 months, according to the doctor, there are chances that the cycle will improve and the polycystosis will pass. I bought a bag of vitamins (A, B, C, E), finally reconciled with the fact that I was sick as a woman, and the child did not appear soon, began to live quietly, let go of the situation. I was waiting for the start of a new cycle to start taking these vitamins, but I did not wait, I found out that I was pregnant! pregnancy did not occur for 7 months, doctors shrug, as it happened, through my atrocious polycystic. I think prayers helped, mine and my mother's. As for the weight - yes, you need to put yourself in order, the production of hormones depends on this, but not abruptly go into minus, but gradually with the help of a healthy diet.

I have PCOS. Appeared after the cancellation of birth control (Yarina). Immediately the weight jumped, the skin deteriorated, the facial hair climbed. The cycle has grown - up to 35 days, and before it was 28.
When we started planning the pregnancy, they told me at the ultrasound that laparoscopy could not be done. I went to the endocrinologist, tested for insulin and testosterone. Both were greatly elevated. I was prescribed a siofor to normalize insulin, for several months I lost 15 kg and the cycle became shorter. According to analyzes, testosterone returned to normal. We tried to conceive, and we did it the first time. At the time of conception, I was 29 years old.

I will introduce you to a specialist who will help you solve your problem, my skype: Saule77711

I got pregnant! the first menstruation went to 18 years, there were constant failures, there were 3 months of delays, but my weight was very small, very thin, at 26 I weighed 43 kg when I became pregnant. So, there was a physical examination - the gynecologist sent for an ultrasound scan - they looked there - they said polycystic, both ovaries are cystic, do not expect to get pregnant, I didn’t really want to, but I was very upset anyway, even drove myself into depression. they stopped protecting themselves with periods, as always trouble, the latter stayed for a month, after them I wait for the periods again - a week of delay, did the test (as if there was some kind of instinct) - it was negative, for some reason, there were no periods in a week, I got sick - the doctor decided to check the kidneys - sent n Uzi - and was told that she was pregnant for 6 weeks, the joy is now no limit !! here’s such a story, I don’t know how, but got pregnant, despite the fact that with the guy after the diagnosis, unprotected sex with all the "consequences" :)) was five or six times .. Now the baby is already 11 weeks old))

Hello girls, I’ve been suffering with a cyst for several years, I’ll say a little 21 g, but there have already been three operations, one in 2008, the right ovarian cyst, the second in 2013 January the left side, and the third 2014 October left me. , the two lane last laproscopy after the operation already had two ovulations, indicated on the ultrasound, and before that I probably didn’t have it, since I felt these two very strongly, the pains are strong, tell me who had similar problems, how could you give birth Lyalka, I want a baby with her husband so much

Good afternoon, a year and a half ago, I became pregnant with a diagnosis of polycystic ovary, but the pregnancy ended at 6 weeks, a miscarriage. I was very upset, the first menstruation started at 12, and from 17 years I was put on hormonal drugs, while I was drinking everything was ok, I stopped drinking, so I immediately had a delay of 3-6 months. After a miscarriage of 1.5 years, I could not get pregnant in any way, and yesterday I had a laparoscopy and checked the patency of the tubes. I hope that now I get pregnant and have a baby, the doctor gave a year to this matter, if there is no artificial insemination.

my husband and I were not protected for 2 years, I was very worried about the gynecologist offering the operation, I already agreed. but by the will of the Lord, spring came to another gynecologist by accident and she said to me: “that you are not young (I was 21 at that time), take some time off, have a good rest in the summer, and come in the fall. In the summer, my husband didn’t manage to go to the sea, and dad I agreed to come with me, I can’t say that I slept off, he drove me out early in the morning at sea, and in the evening I just fell off my feet. 2 weeks passed (by the way I had monthly periods 3 months ago, they go like they want me for 6 months no, then 8 then 3, in general, anyhow), in general, my husband and I are so bored that we don’t even think about the child Ali walked 5 months of my delay, I decided to inform the gynecologist and go to check so to see if the dam will break through soon, my gynecologist says and did you do the test ?? - oh, I say why. In general I bought a test -2 strips, we they didn’t believe her husband yet 3 times at night they went for tests, and in the morning they confirmed everything was in check)))) Our son is 4 years old, we are not protected and we don’t take a steam bath, since we already have a son, but I still have my periods as they want . Girls do not lose hope and let go of the situation, the less you think about timelessness, the faster it will come.

I got pregnant. 1.5 years did not work. Then we got it. There was no time to think about it and I immediately became pregnant.

1. Girls, did anyone get pregnant with polycystic ovary without medical intervention? 2. How many tried? 3. Was there a more or less established cycle at the time of conception or menstruation was not at all for a long time (how much)? 4. If you could not get pregnant on your own, then what helped you conceive the long-awaited baby? 5. Your age? 6. Are PCOS and PCOS the same thing? What diagnosis have you been given? 7. Does weight loss help normalize the cycle with PCOS? Thanks to all who responded))))

Hi everyone. I also have polycystosis, the cycle is not regular. 4 months I could not get pregnant and the doctor prescribed a drink for 2 weeks and immediately became pregnant without a cycle. Now I drink Duphaston for up to 3 months to maintain pregnancy. Polycystic disease is not a fatal disease and it is quite possible to become pregnant so do not lose hope everything will be good luck everyone))))

Hello. Also SpkYa. Already 3 years have been diagnosed. Diana 35, Verashpiron, Glucofage was treated. Nothing has happened. There was no ovulation. Endless ultrasound. Again tablets Duphaston, Proginova. The simulation was on Klomifen and hhch injection. The body is zero reaction. I abandoned everything. I lost 7 kg. Ovulation in the natural cycle, but without B. Now she again lowered her hands. What to do? Tell me.

Hello. I had surgery to remove cysts in the ovary. Can I get pregnant

I’m 27, the diagnosis was made a year ago, they tried to get pregnant a year, it didn’t work, the doctor prescribed femoston, drank 4 months, the doctor said that nothing had changed, there was no ovulation and stimulation awaited me, I threw the femoston on my psychos and was advised to douche with herbs, I did 5 once and from the second attempt became pregnant. Here is the prescription!
Pour a liter of water into the pan, put on fire, as soon as it starts to boil, throw a pinch from each pack and immediately turn off the fire and let it brew for 3 hours. After infusion, strain it., Do douching every evening for 21 days (grass train, chamomile, marigold flowers)

I was delivered 25 years ago 4 years ago 2 months ago I did laparoscopy so far there is no result, but I do not despair all the luck and the kids))

But I wonder if there is no monthly for six months, is it possible to get pregnant with polycystic?

Hello everyone! I have polycystic, for a very long time we tried to get pregnant, how many tablets I drank, how many tears I asked. Nothing worked for us.And so the doctor prescribed a laparoscopy. Before the operation, I had a delay, I woke up in the morning before the doctor’s appointments, went to the toilet (I apologize for the details), and there was a daub. I was upset that said little. I came to the doctor, she says the operation will have to be postponed. I came home can’t do anything, and the next day, too, and the second day. I did not, and there are two strips. I could not believe my eyes, and the most interesting is that I didn’t take anything at all for a month and a half. Now my little boy 1.9. So girls do not despair, you too will succeed. Now we are working on the second,) GOOD LUCK, MAIN BELIEVE, MIRACLES HAPPEN

I got polycystic at the age of 17 (now 24). Excess weight is not and was not. At first, they did not pay attention to it, and when the failure in menstruation began to worsen, they started treatment. Prescribed birth control so that the cycle stops and the ovaries rest, drank them for about 9 months and at the same time drank different medicines and gave injections, which I don’t remember anymore. In general, all this seemed to help and the cycle somehow recovered. My husband and I started to plan B. But it’s not like: (((We changed the doctor, went to a private clinic specializing in infertility. There we started to stimulate ovulation with colstalbegit, 4 eggs matured, but alas, not one was not cleared: ((((. After that, she dropped her hands and did nothing for a year. After my mother’s brain traps, I went to another doctor again, she dealt with my problem in detail. I took a bunch of tests to find out the reason for all this. But the tests are all normal, except for one hormone ( which I don’t remember anymore) here she prescribes me a course to lay down I’ve been studying for half a year (and they say, if it doesn’t help, we’ll record you as a barren couple and examine two globally.) So I order this course of medicine and think: I will do a B test just in case, and Bravo. I’m pregnant. I didn’t believe to my eyes, how many of these tests were with disappointment, I was afraid to do each test, and after each tear. And this was not an exception, only they were tears of happiness. That's how, after two years of treatment and two years of tests, to get pregnant, this miracle has come it was when we stopped bothering and letting everything go on ourselves flowed. So everything has its time! Now I have a beautiful daughter! I wish you the same happiness and do not give up! P.S wrote this post, because she herself struck the Internet in search of words that inspired hope!

Girls please answer me, I recently found out that I have PCOS, before that I did not suspect anything, everything was normal, nothing bothered. I’m married for 6 months and I can’t get pregnant at all. Waiting for menstruation, the doctor prescribed ZHANIN. Did anyone drink Zhanin. benefit or harm?

With the ability to also polycystic, I got pregnant once I had a miscarriage. I am preparing for an operation. Lapar may be more convenient in the summer.

I also have sperm from 16 years old, the cycle is also broken, I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 years. So far, without success, I have done stimulation and insemination, so far.

I noticed such a pattern that fatty women get pregnant faster than skinny ones, you should probably get fat (

Girls, hello everyone! I am 25 years old. from the age of 17 I was diagnosed with PCOS (a familiar doctor). At first, she didn’t bother much, but when the children began to appear with friends, she also wanted to. I went to the doctors and why didn’t I drink, what good and expensive doctors I didn’t go to - all for nothing. There was stimulation with Klostilbegit - it did not help, and the doctor suggested Laparoscopy. but I know (and many doctors say that lapara does not always help and is not very useful). Of course, I was terribly upset, but I climbed into the Internet to look for information about treatment and found an article where they told me that I should drink vitamins and proper nutrition. I took vitamins 3 cycles, but menstruation was delayed anyway. Recently I went to the doctor at the place of residence for free and she looked at me, said that the cervix was good (there was always erosion), and then an ultrasound was done after 2 weeks, and there the ovulation and the doctor said that there were no pathologies))) and other doctors all the time the diagnosis was made by polycystic and only stuffed with hormones. but I don’t have this polycystic on my face either, my face is almost without acne, my hairiness is not increased.

Cyclic metabolic therapy is carried out for at least 3 menstrual cycles.
the first phase of the menstrual cycle (from 5 to 15 days of the cycle):
folic acid - 1 mg 3 times a day (3 mg / day),
complex preparation containing vitamins of group B (neurobex) - 1-2 tablets 3 times a day,
lipoic acid - 0.012 3 times a day or a 0.5% solution in oil.
second phase of the cycle (from 16 to 25 day of the cycle)
tocopherol acetate (vitamin *****) - 300 to 400 mg per day,
ascorbic acid (vitamin C) at 0.5-1.0 g per day,
Riboxinum - 0.2 g 3 times a day.

Zinc is a trace element that prevents the conversion of testosterone to its active form (DHT), thereby normalizing the functioning of the sebaceous glands and stopping hair loss. Results are visible only after 3 months, but studies guarantee that they will be.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) - is involved in the metabolism of steroid hormones, reducing sensitivity to testosterone, turns dangerous estradiol into safe estriol. Vitamin B2 and B3 are necessary for the normal production of thyroid hormones, B5 helps control fat metabolism. They are sold in various combinations, for example, in Neuromultivit, Magne B, etc.
The level of magnesium in diabetics is usually low, and since there is a connection between insulin and PCOS, the intake of this trace element is very important.
Calcium, studies have shown, accelerates the maturation of the follicle, and vitamin D, taken with it, normalize the menstrual cycle. In addition, vitamin D deficiency is a factor in insulin resistance, which for polycystic patients is of great importance. Diabetics always have a shortage of this vitamin.
Despite the importance of vitamin D, there is a risk of poisoning them, and you need to drink for a long time (from 3 months). Therefore, it is worth giving preference to vitamin D from fish oil.
Chromium stimulates the formation of glucose tolerance, controls the amount of lipids and cholesterol in the blood, and reduces appetite. Chromium has been successfully used in weight loss programs for several decades.
The most common form of chromium is picolinate. Ask in pharmacies.
Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is a vitamin-like substance synthesized in the liver. It prevents aging, stimulates the immune system and accelerates the energy and metabolic processes in the body. Q10 allows you to lose extra pounds faster. and prevents their further recruitment, as well as heals and rejuvenates the skin.

PCOS or polycystic ovary syndrome is a hormonal disorder that often affects women of childbearing age. This condition causes the menstrual cycle to become irregular, making it difficult for PCOS sufferers to become pregnant. But do not be discouraged first. Your chances of becoming pregnant, despite having PCOS, may remain open with different treatment options. Now the next question: how long should you wait for women with PCOS to become pregnant? Find out the answer below.

How long can a woman with PCOS get pregnant?

Answering the question when women with PCOS can get pregnant is not as easy as turning a hand. There are many determinants that need to be carefully considered. Examples include the age of you and your partner, the state of your health and your partner, and risk factors for other fertility problems that you or your partner might not have noticed. Then you should also consider what your PCOS conditions are. Is it good that the symptoms improve or even worsen?

In fact, how likely a successful pregnancy is and how quickly a woman with PCOS can become pregnant will differ from other partners.

To illustrate, quote from the Verywell Health page: if you are a woman under the age of 35, she is healthy in the sense that she has no other health problems or problems that affect your fertility, she has a fairly regular menstrual cycle, even if you have PCOS and your husband also do not have risk factors for fertility problems, chances are that you may become pregnant within one year after trying or even faster.

The scenario is different if you or your partner are known to have risk factors for certain fertility problems. For example, you have special problems with the uterus or low male sperm count. Thus, the chances of getting pregnant with PCOS may take more than a year.

Our fertility also naturally decreases with age from 35 years for women to 40 years for men.

Can you make your menstrual schedule more regular if you have PCOS?

One of the reasons women with polycystic bone syndrome find it difficult to get pregnant is because hormone imbalance makes it difficult for the body to control the production of insulin, which leads to overweight or obesity.

Overweight women with PCOS are reported to have irregular ovulation. In fact, this does not exclude the possibility that it will be difficult for his body to produce eggs. This is why some women with PCOS cannot menstruate at all. If the eggs are not produced, fertilization will not occur, even if the sperm has penetrated the woman's body.

Now the most effective way to restore the normal menstrual cycle so that you can ovulate more smoothly is to lose weight. Changing your diet by eating fruits and vegetables and regular exercise can help you reach your ideal weight. Because a healthy body condition can affect fertility. At the very least, reducing 5-10% of your total body weight can now improve your ovulation cycle.

However, remember that this does not mean that you can lose weight right away to get pregnant. You still need to consider various things as described above.

When should I see a doctor?

As a rule, the doctor recommends to consult immediately if you are a woman under the age of 35, you have problems associated with her menstrual cycle or fertility, and you have not become pregnant after one year of regular sexual intercourse with a partner. Similarly, if you are not pregnant after 35 years of age after 6 months of regular sex, you should consult a doctor immediately.
